Fire and Rail Trail

The trails remain closed as the rains have not yet come - and it is hot. Very hot





We are still getting the awesome sunsets with smoke coloured by the continuing Las Conchas fire (especially the first one below)





I bought a book - Day Hikes in the Santa Fe Area - to look for other runs. Found this one, the "Rail Trail" - runs along a working line and could be a round trip of 23-miles. If it looks hot that's because it is. I've finished up the two times I've done it this week at about 8am and it's already over 70. Combined with being at 7,250'...you'd need to get up and run when the coyotes are still out and about to do any significant distance in the summer
