Mid-November Update (1 of 3) - Leaving New England

It has been a long time since the last update. I blame work, vacation time in my old hometown, and an 1,800-mile drive to Taos, NM

Our final week in Cape Cod was mostly fine, tempered by work being very busy. I was preparing materials for a Q3 Ops Review (being given by someone else), writing a 2010 Business Plan and preparing for 2 days of negotiations in Toronto with Orange (France Telecom)

I did get to run around some and catch a few more pics of the many lighthouses here on the Cape. Below is Sandy Neck, across the Great Marsh off Barnstable Harbor. The only way to access is by boat or to drive out along the beach for several miles

And this is Chatham Light (http://www.capecodlighthouses.info/chatham.html) in the very cool town of Chatham

After celebrating our 6th Anniversary, my wife's birthday and a mellow Halloween, we left this excellent part of the country. We could easily live here although Maureen isn't sure about the cold winters on the Atlantic. Portland, ME stood out as did Massachusetts (weird drivers - courteous tailgaters)

On Sunday the 1st we loaded up the Explorer and Grumpus the Dog took his usual driving position:

We headed to my hometown of Hamilton, which is in-between Toronto and Buffalo. After our usual false starts (AGAIN forgot the camera battery and then forgot to lock the doors) we made the 575-mile trek. Much of the drive was through a very pretty part of NY, on I-90 between Albany and Utica. Here are some pics along the way...

And we of managed to resist the temptation to see what was up in the "Central Leatherstocking Region"

Next up is 11 glorious days in God's country...
