Boulder Running

After being a fat ass in the Pacific Northwest for 3 weeks, have hit the training hard to prepare for the Breckenridge half marathon Labor Day weekend

This is a great run that I need to enjoy in case it floods - the Boulder Creek Path. I think you could make this a lot longer (in Boulder) but starting from the Justice Center and running to the end at Four Mile Canyon is a round trip of 5.7 miles with 400' of elevation gain

Look for the rock climbers in the next two photos

Here are the views from the house we are renting. Getting kicked out on July 3rd but back for August and 10 days in September...

Seattle to Boulder

After Vancouver and a night in Redmond we made the 2-day drive back to Boulder

Maureen was driving

The best pic in a long time - real cowboys!

Disaster

1,500 miles of driving to experience Vancouver during the Finals and I was crushed (B.C. natives more so). Still, no regrets

The run was fun before we were in Vancouver - with our flag flying somewhere

Up in Vancouver it was nothing short of spiritual. We enjoyed the house in Deep Cove with it's views

Everywhere we went everyone was talking Canucks. This was at our local coffee house

Highlights included watching the games at the local pub with 100 new friends, meeting most outside smoking, and a full bar singing O Canada as proudly as possible. This pic below was about 40 minutes before game time - everyone stood and removed hats for the anthem

Game 7 was incredible and full of tension - although once it was 2-0 the mood was stunned and at 3-0 we all knew it was over

I was not involved in any rioting

Thursday we headed back to Seattle

Last views of the city

Back in the U.S.

New art at the border

As we entered Redmond we saw this in the distance - turns out it was a Puget Sound Energy substation on fire

Friday we left for the long drive back to Boulder...with no Cup

Game Day - Game 6

After the glorious 1-0 win Friday night we decided (after getting a few drinks into the wife) to head up to Vancouver for 4 nights

Sunday morning we loaded up The Grumpus

2.5 hours later we were in magnificent British Columbia

This is our neighbourhood pub that we will wander up to at some point

This is the view from our house

This was how the weather started Monday - not good (but not bad)

After working a little in the morning we went out looking for Canucks gear and headed downtown

"Church" - also known as Rogers Place (something like that, maybe Rogers Arena)

After spenidng $300 and having a bizarre conversation with a scalper we headed back to give Hudson his toy, a plush Canucks puck

GO CANUCKS!
